Real Property Transfer Tax & Measure ULA
In Effect since June 30, 2024 - Effective for transactions closing after June 30, 2024, the new thresholds for ULA will be $5.15M and $10.3M. Transactions above $5.15M but under $10.3M will be assessed a 4% tax. Transactions at $10.3M and up will be assessed at 5.5%.

RSO Rent Increase Calculator
Beginning July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025 annual rent increases for rental units subject to the City of Los Angeles (RSO) is 4%. If the landlord provides gas and electric service to the tenant, an additional 1% can be added. Law requires a written 30-day notice.

At-Fault for Eviction
Just Cause Tenant Eviction Protections Rental units built after Oct. 1,1978 that are not covered by RSO are covered by Just Cause Eviction Protection. Tenant no-fault evictions require payment of relocation assistance.
